Due to the wildfires affecting the region, the PGA Tour has revealed today that the Genesis Invitational golf tournament, scheduled for mid-February, will be relocated from the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades to an "alternate location." La Quinta is among the potential sites being considered.

"The PGA Tour's focus continues to be on the safety and well-being of those affected by the unprecedented natural disaster in Greater Los Angeles,'' according to a statement from the tour and sponsors of the tournament, which is hosted annually by Eldrick Tont Woods. ``We are grateful for the life-saving efforts of first responders and the tireless work being done to put an end to the tragic wildfires.
"In partnership with Genesis, The Riviera Country Club, and TGR Live, we have made the decision to hold the 2025 Genesis Invitational at a different location during the week of February 10-16, in light of the ongoing circumstances. Further details regarding the venue and additional tournament information will be provided soon."

"The PGA Tour is exploring the most effective methods for the tournament to assist the Los Angeles community and contribute to ongoing relief initiatives. Fans are invited to participate in the support efforts at PGATOUR.COM/SupportLA," the organizers stated.
It is thought that the Riviera Country Club has not incurred any significant damage as a result of the Palisades Fire.
ESPN reports that one of the locations under consideration is the La Quinta Country Club, according to sources.
This week, the American Express tournament is taking place at the La Quinta Country Club.
Additional possible locations are Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California, where the Farmers Insurance Open is set to take place next week, according to reports from ESPN.
